  • It is very important that you join the tournament between 12.45pm and 1pm and are ready to play at 1pm
  • In the event that you are late, please follow the above procedure and you will be paired for Round 2

When you arrive

How to start and play games

  • When the Arbiter tells you that the first Round pairings are done, you will need to REFRESH or RELOAD your Tornelo page. The page will then display a LIVE EVENT page.
  • You will only need to reload your page once on the day, that is after the first round pairings are done.
  • If you checkmate your opponent the result will be AUTOMATICALLY recorded in Tornelo

To be aware of

  • You can play games on a desktop, laptop or tablet. We cannot guarantee this will work from a phone.
  • External assistance or advice during games is strictly forbidden.  We expect everyone to play fair and allow children to make their own mistakes.
  • You are part of a community that relies on you doing the right thing. If you want to help your children while they are playing there are plenty of websites where you can play chess online.
  • There are no prizes in this event - we hope to change this for future events!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please immediately talk to the Arbiter!

Notes on age groups
  • Under 10's division is for players born in 2010 and later
  • More experienced under 10's may choose (and are encouraged) to play in the Over 10 division
