Format

Players split into age groups - if fewer than 14 players in any one group they may be combined with an adjacent age-group to make a single group with more than 14 players.

All players play 7 games. No knockouts. This is is known as a Swiss-style tournament.

Costs

All RJ Shield events cost $25 per child.

• No refunds will be permitted, all entries are final.
• All event bookings are non-transferable.

How to enter

Online on Tornelo. Click on the tournament name you are entering and follow the prompts.  

It is preferred if you can enter online at least one day prior to the event. However, it is possible to enter on the same day as long as the registration is completed before 12pm.

My child is a beginner

Every RJ Shield welcomes Novice players. Most of Victoria's top junior players started their journey at RJ Shield events; so why not come along and see where you end up - who knows, like many before, you might Conquer the World!

Larger RJ Shield events (40-50 players or more) are run in 3 divisions; an Over 10 age-group, an Under 10 age-group an U8 age-group. Players who perform well in the Under 10 events will be asked to stretch themselves and play in the Over 10 age-group in their next event.
